FAQ

Carpet Cleaning questions, answered.

Straight answers for Richmond homes and businesses. Can't see yours? Ask us.

Is Richmond Carpet Cleaning a carpet cleaning company?

No. Richmond Carpet Cleaning is a referral website. We publish local guidance and pass your enquiry to an independent local provider where one is available. The provider does the work and sets the price. Read the full explanation on the referral disclosure page.

How does a referral work?

You send an enquiry. We'll try to connect you with an independent provider who covers your area. The provider contacts you, confirms details, quotes a price and books a time if you agree. You are not obliged to accept.

Does it cost anything to send an enquiry?

No. Sending an enquiry through this site is free. You pay the provider only if you accept their quote and they do the work.

Who sets the price?

The provider does. We do not set prices and we do not take payment for the cleaning. Ask for a written quote that lists what is included.

How much does carpet cleaning cost in Richmond?

Prices vary by provider. Providers commonly price by room, by area or by item, and extras such as stairs, stains and pet odour can change it. We do not publish figures here, so ask for a written quote.

How do I prepare my home for a carpet cleaner?

Clear small items and breakables, vacuum if you can, and point out stains and problem spots. Ask whether the provider moves furniture and where they can park the van.

How long does carpet take to dry in Richmond's wet season?

It depends on the method, the carpet and the airflow. Drying is generally slower in the damp winter months when windows stay closed. Ask the provider for an estimate and how to speed it up.

What should I check about strata rules before booking?

Check your strata bylaws or ask your strata manager about elevator bookings, access hours, parking and water use. Rules vary by building, so tell the provider what applies.

Do carpet cleaners in British Columbia need a licence?

We are not aware of a general provincial trade licence for carpet cleaning, but businesses in Richmond generally need a City of Richmond business licence. Confirm with the City of Richmond and ask the provider directly.

What certifications should I ask a provider about?

Many cleaners hold training from bodies such as the IICRC. It is not necessarily required by law. Ask what training they have, and also ask about liability insurance and WorkSafeBC coverage.

Will the provider give a written quote?

You should ask for one. A written quote should list rooms or items, extras, any travel charge and what happens if you are not satisfied.

What if a stain comes back after cleaning?

Spots can reappear when residue wicks up from the underlay. Ask the provider before booking what their policy is and whether re-treatment is offered. Any guarantee is the provider's, not ours.

Which Richmond neighbourhoods can you connect me with a provider in?

We take enquiries from Steveston, Brighouse, Terra Nova, Broadmoor, Seafair, Ironwood, Hamilton, East Richmond and Cambie, and from Ladner in Delta. Coverage depends on the provider.

Who do I contact if I have a problem with the work?

Contact the provider first, since they did the work. If you cannot resolve it, British Columbia's Civil Resolution Tribunal can help with claims under $5,000. For feedback about this site, call the number at the top of the page or email hello@richmondcarpetcleaning.ca.
